Our Mission
Preserving the Past. Building the Future. Strengthening Community.
Wolcott is a town with deep roots and long memory, where people across generations have made homes, raised families, served their neighbors, and cared for the community and land in quiet, practical ways.
Today, Wolcott has an opportunity to build on that history with renewed purpose. By restoring and reimagining important community spaces, we can strengthen community life across Wolcott and create places that are welcoming, useful, and distinctly Wolcott. We are committed to fostering places that inspire pride, invite visitors, support local activity, and give residents more ways to gather, connect, and belong.
The Wolcott Community Trust was created to help turn that opportunity into lasting community benefit. Our work begins with historic places that can once again support learning, gathering, local history, civic life, and connection.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are community-based, volunteer-driven, and committed to careful stewardship of Wolcott’s historic places, public trust, and future opportunities.
Our Mission
To restore and reimagine historic Wolcott spaces as lasting community assets that preserve local history, bring people together, support village vitality, and strengthen community life for generations to come.

Why Wolcott
A Town Worth Investing In
Wolcott, Vermont is a small rural town in Lamoille County with a population of just under 1,500 — a place of farms, forests, and deeply rooted neighbors. Like many rural Vermont communities, Wolcott faces real economic headwinds: outmigration of young people, aging infrastructure, and limited access to workforce development programs.
But Wolcott also has extraordinary assets: scenic landscapes, strong community bonds, historic architecture, and residents who genuinely care about where they live. The WCT exists to turn those assets into opportunity.
